It was during this time that her experience in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, and this has left an impact on her own perception of food. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of kids who struggle. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate, where she promotes awareness of young diabetics. She travels frequently around the country in her role in the capacity of mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her work and passion for cooking. Anne has stated throughout her professional career she's grateful to share with others what is truly important for her.
